Hike 4 Happiness

Meet | Walk | Connect | Talk
At Project HAND we believe in the power of preventative action to reduce the increasing prevalence of mental illness so we are continuing to look for new ways to improve the mental health of Australians.
Did you know exercise is not just important for your physical health? It can also improve your mental health too! Exercise releases "feel good" chemicals in our brain like endorphins and serotonin. It also increases the blood flow to our brains which increases the size of our hippocampus and improves our memory! Even better still, when you exercise out in nature while socialising you will get your daily "dose" of the four happiness chemicals dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins!
Since the first Hike 4 Happiness in 2018 at the Daisy Hill Conservation Park, hundreds of people have joined us to reduce social isolation and loneliness, create meaningful connections and get the happiness chemicals flowing in the name of improving our mental health and well-being, one step at a time.
