At Project HAND we believe in the power of preventative action to reduce the increasing prevalence of mental illness so we are continuing to look for new ways to improve the mental health of Australians.
Did you know exercise is not just important for your physical health? It can also improve your mental health too! Exercise releases "feel good" chemicals in our brain like endorphins and serotonin. It also increases the blood flow to our brains which increases the size of our hippocampus and improves our memory!
Hike 4 Happiness aims to reduce social isolation and loneliness, create meaningful connections and get the endorphins flowing in the name of improving our mental health and wellbeing.
If you're ready to meet new people, go for a walk, discover new places in your local community, refuel over breakfast and non-stop talking then read on!
How do I get involved?
1. Last Sunday of every month at Daisy Hill Conservation Park!
2. 3-4km (45mins - 1hr)
3. Post-walk refuel at a nearby Cafe
